Auditions, enrolment for auditions, masterclasses and BelCanto Prize 2023

This year is very special. Due to the changes in Europe, the energy crisis, some reconstruction works in theatres we could not find easily as usual the audition places for the Akademie BelCanto 2023. With these auditions you apply for a scholarship, a role and/or the BelCanto Prize. Singers in career who are not eligible due to age can apply for an audition (if places are available).

Berlin 22 January 2023 Deutsche Oper.

Firenze/Florence 28 January 2023 Conservatorio.

Wien/Vienna 4 February

Krakow  6 and 7 February

We are most grateful to the institutions for their support.

As we only have one day in each venue, the number of participants is strictly limited. We reserve the right to preselect singers via video audition. If you are not accepted to sing personally, you will get 50 % of your enrolment fee back. Enrolment is open, see here.

The Kraków audition is especially interesting if you want to participate in the workshop production of Il signor Bruschino. Those elected will receive a special offer from Passionart, Krakow. We cordially invite Polish and Ucrainian singers for this project. But you can sing at any other audition, even if you want to participate in Kraków.

We prepared another audition in Madrid but couldn't find a venue yet.

Enrolment for all masterclasses for paying applicants is possible from now on.

Registration  is possible from the announcement of the places and dates until all available places are occupied. Please pay the fee immediately after acceptance of the registration. Response and acceeptance by eMail. Do not pay before!!!

Prepare CV, repertory list a photo (role photo or full shot) and recent recordings (max. two years old), which are available via link (for example youtube, vimeo, dropbox, google drive). Please do not send recordings as attachments. They will be rejected.

A fee of 50 euros will be charged for the auditions, which is also the registration fee for the BelCanto Academy 2023 (ABC2023).

The enrolment fee is valid  for the masterclasses and the International BelCanto Prize as well.

Singers who are not admitted to the audition after video selection will be refunded a partial fee of 25 euros. Please send us a copy of the bank transfer receipt electronically in good time. Registration is void without payment of the fee. Please never forget to include your name on the transfer. The applicant bears the cost of the transfer.

The auditions will be supervised by Antonio Staude, the secretary of the BelCanto Academy.
